A Gift Her Daughter Will Treasure Forever

There are moments in this job that remind me why I believe so deeply in printed photographs.

This was one of them.
I've had the privilege of photographing Miss Natonya several times over the years, so when her daughter was expecting, it meant so much that she trusted me to capture this exciting new chapter for their family.
After the maternity session, Miss Natonya decided she wanted to do something extra.
She wasn't just ordering photographs.
She was creating a surprise.
She chose to add even more images so we could create a beautiful album for her daughter—one that told the complete story of this season of her life before her baby arrived.
When she came to pick it up, I handed her the album and simply watched.
Page after page, she smiled.
She laughed.
There were little "oohs" and "awws" as she turned each spread.
Then she looked up with the biggest smile and said,
"These are beautiful."
"Oh my goodness... she's going to be so excited."
I don't think she even realized she was giving me a gift in that moment.
Watching her reaction reminded me that what we create isn't just for today.
One day, her daughter will open that same album and remember what it felt like to be waiting for her little one. Years from now, she'll be able to share those pages with her child and tell the story of a season that passed by so quickly.
That's something a phone simply can't replace.
A Note From Behind the Lens
As a mom, this moment hit me a little differently.
It made me think about my own family and all the memories I want to preserve—not just for me, but for my daughter someday.
Photographs deserve more than living on a phone or a hard drive.
They deserve to be held.
To be passed around the living room.
To bring smiles years later.
To remind us of moments we never want to forget.
Watching Miss Natonya flip through that album with so much joy reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
Because the photographs we print today become the memories our families hold onto tomorrow.
Inspired by This Story?
Every family has moments worth preserving.
If you've been thinking about documenting your own story, I'd love to create something meaningful together—photographs you'll not only love today, but treasure for years to come.
